I do want you to know that we have all felt somewhat apprehensive about going to a club meeting the first time, but I can assure you that we are a bunch of very friendly guys and you will feel most welcome. From time to time we do have a speaker or some sort of demonstration related to the hobby at our meeting. To raise some additional funds for the club he suggested that we should look into selling some of the club's old equipment or any equipment that the members wanted to donate. At the last meeting it was decided that the club would setup a club table and sell this equipment at the upcoming RVRC hamfest on June 18. As of today we have some very nice items including a like new Palstar tuner, a few NIB power supplies, a high end CD player and many flat screen monitors. I am asking all the members to see if they have any equipment that they are not using, is just sitting around gathering dust and would like to donate it to the club. If a member has a piece of equipment that has a high market value, (such as a Collins S-Line Hi Hi), they can elect to have the club sell the item for them and they can then donate a portion of the sale price back to the club. If you are not going to the hamfest but would like to donate an item or items to the club, we may be able to arrange pickup of these items. It is only 12 days until the RVRC hamfest so if you can help the club out with this fundraiser then please contact Dan, KC2YRC and Larry, W2LJ. Since many of our members will be attending the hamfest Larry, W2LJ has asked for some volunteers to help man the club table. This would require about an hour of your time and still allow you to visit all the vendors. We will even supply the chairs and a nut ring cake - my treat. Please email W2LJ if you can help out at the club's table. It's your club. Please support it. 73, Victor, K2NBC -----Original Message----- From: ETSList [mailto:etslist-bounces at mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of LARRY MAKOSKI Sent: Thursday, June 02, 2016 10:54 AM To: Etslist Subject: [ETS/PARC List] RVRC Hamfest All, The RVRC Hamfest is just two Saturdays away!? Purchased June 26, 2008, and looks new, works perfectly. It is 44.5" wide ( and a bit heavy ). It's an older model [ VO47L ], and runs a bit warm when on for a while, but would be perfect for a man cave or kids play room. I have the manual and remote. It was NOT what I thought it was. The 220 and 2 meter repeaters will remain linked today as a test. Apparently, the DMK URI interface to the 220 repeater was bad. There was a spare at the site, and as soon as we swapped it, 220 was working! I will be calling DMK to tell them this URI failed, and see what they say. Interesting to note that this URI MAY have been intermittent for years. It was thought that the old computer was failing, but maybe it was this URI causing complications all the time! ETS will have a vendor's club table setup to sell items and equipment that was donated by some of our very generous club members. This is an important fund raising effort for the club. Dave, W2OIL and Dan, KC2YRC are doing the bulk of the work collecting the items, getting them to the hamfest and setting up the club table but we still need some volunteers to help sell at the club table. All we are asking is about ? hour of your time. This will still give you plenty of time to see all the vendors and to socialize with your fellow hams. Contact Dave, Dan or myself if you can help out. Those two words say it all! If you?ve never participated in Field Day, please, go to the Field Day Site Locator at http://www.arrl.org/field-day-locator Find a site nearest to you and go out and meet some hams. Have a great time. And most of all, OPERATE! As an aside, I?ve received many invitations from clubs this year from all over the Division. Unfortunately, we?re having some work done in the house to replace a dining room ceiling that decided it was time to die. As such, I will only be able to make some short trips locally to me, if at all. At the very least I?ll work 1D from the house. To those many clubs who?ve extended an invitation to me this year, please accept my apologies. See you on the air! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Today was somewhat disappointing as H.R. 1301 was due to be marked-up by the House Commerce and Energy Committee. Unfortunately, due to the events on the House floor (literally) on Wednesday evening, Speaker Ryan decided to adjourn the session until after July 4th. We expect the bill to be moving forward after the break. The next step, after getting through the Commerce Committee, will be a vote by the House of Representatives to pass the bill. Should the bill pass, it would then move on to the Senate for consideration. I?ll continue to keep you informed about the progress of the legislation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Vy 73 de Mike N2YBB -------------------------------------------------------------------- ARRL Hudson Division Director: Mike Lisenco, N2YBB n2ybb at arrl.org -------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from messages, go to: http://p1k.arrl.org/oo/172fc128418a46ccd28ae7a57d624608 From mrpjf150 at gmail.com Fri Jun 24 10:24:26 2016 From: mrpjf150 at gmail.com (Pete Fierro) Date: Fri, 24 Jun 2016 10:24:26 -0400 Subject: [ETS/PARC List] No tech net/tech meeting Message-ID: Members At the request of Rich,KB2LLM,there will be no tech net aired tonight on the 2 meter repeater because of our monthly meeting. All links will be dropped to all repeaters just for tonight to allow the membership full access to our repeaters for all.
