Minutes for the Meeting on January 29th, 2016Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)
The Meeting was called to order by  Vice President Dave Vadney, W2OIL at 8:07 PM.  This was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then by self-introductions of all those in attendance.  
Meeting MinutesNo minutes were taken at November/December 2015 meeting. There was nothing to read.
Treasurer’s ReportTreasurer’s report as given by Vic K2NBC.November 2015 Opening Balance - $XXXX.65Income -   50/50 $XX, Dues $XXX, Coffee Kitty $XX.45Deposit - $XXX.45Regular Disbursements - $XX.45 to VerizonClosing Balance - $XXXX.65 –  so we are $XXX.35 “ahead” compared  to last year.December 2015 Opening Balance - $XXXX.65Income – Dues $XXX, Party Donations $XXX 50/50 $XX (from this $XXX went to KB2LLM for purchasing Raspberry Pis)Deposit - $XXXThere was an additional $XX income in dues that came after the deposit.Verizon Bills for December and January - $XX.45 and $XX.64 repsectively.Closing balance - $XXXX.56 - $XXX.99 ahead of where we were at the same time last year.
At this time a motion was made by WB2HKK and seconded by N2JUN to extend the waiver of dues for KG2CJ to two years, as he paid for the pizza for the Christmas party for two years running. The motion was passed unanimously.
A motion was made by W2WIQ and seconded by AB2ZK to accept the Treasurer's Report. This was approved by the membership.
CorrespondenceNone
Technical ReportRich KB2LLM announced and re-introduced the members of the Technical Committee. Rich has been the Chair for 25 years now. The repeater is the same, but it is now being run by a Raspberry Pi. For the time being, the older repeater controller will remain off. The Committee is still working on the announcements, trying to get some of the old ones back as the announcements are currently being done by a synthesized computer voice. Echolink will remain on the 220 repeater. The repeater currently goes into sleep mode at 12:00 Midnight and re-awakens at 04:00 AM. A code was given to the members to re-activate the repeater during sleep mode.
Old BusinessWA2USM, Wayne was voted in unanimously.
New BusinessDave W2OIL called for the formation of a Nominations Committee for the upcoming election of officers.
KB2LLM announced that he has a bunch of vacuum tubes that he collected over the years. In the process of selling them, he will donate 50% of the profits to the Club.
A discussion came up with regard to loaning Wayne WA2USM use of the Club's Kenwood TS-2000. It was decided that the topic would be taken up by the Executive Committee.
Health and Welfare
JOhn Manna WA2F's passed away (N2NQE).It was reported that Jeff Battis N2NSU passed away last January.  Jeff was a member of PARC.
AdjournmentA motion was made to adjourn the meeting by N2JUN and was seconded by W2WIQ. The meeting was adjourned at 9:38 PM50/50 – Won by AB2ZK – The total $64 was donated back to the Club.
