Minutes for the Meeting on August 28th, 2015 Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)
The Meeting was called to order by President Dave Vadney W2OIL at 8:07 PM. This was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then by self-introductions of all those in attendance.
Meeting MinutesThe July minutes were successfully e-mailed to all members. With that in mind, a motion was made by Walter W2WIQ and Len WB2HKK to suspend the reading and the minutes were accepted as published.

CorrespondenceNone
Membership32 names were eliminated from the roster. These are people who have moved away, have stopped paying dues, etc. It was determined by the membership that Family Members will not be asked to pay dues.
Technical ReportThe 220 MHz repeater is up and working well. All the over the air linking commands are now working well, the problems we were having were due to computer problems.
Walter W2WIQ has dropped the hang time for the squelch tail and has turned off the courtesy tone in a effort to discourage a kerchunker. Pete KD2ARB has been corresponding with the FCC about a likely suspect from Astoria, Queens. The Technical Committee ahs asked all members to document any incidents of interference and send them on to Lenny WB2HKK.
The Control Operators for the K2ETS repeater are: W2WIQ, N2VHV, KB2LLM, WB2HKK, KD2ARB.
Walter W2WIQ proposed eliminating all announcements from the repeater except for the repeater ID and the hourly announcement. This will be taken under advisement by the Technical Committee.
At this time Fred, W2NNN gave a presentation on WebSDR – Web based software defined radio.
Old Business
Christmas Party – The membership deicided to stay with the same pizzeria that we have been using, as the prices seem to be competetive with others in the area. It was determined that we will ask for a minimum of a $5.00 donation from each member attending to help defray costs.
Drew W2OU gave a brief recap of the digital communications seminar that was held in Westfield on 8/17
New Business
The club received as a donation from a SK estate, a Drake T4X and power supply, a Hammarlund HQ180C reveiver, ans a Gonsett Model 3341. These will be auctioned off in a silent auction to raise money for the club. Whatever is not sold via silent auction will be offered on eBay.
Health and WelfareFrank KG2CJ's brother, Alfred Pinto, had passed away on August 5thW2WIQ made a motion, which was seconded by W2LJ to donate $25 to the Wounded Warrior Fund on the club's ehalf in memory passing of Bob Conroy KB2VMG.
