Recent media coverage of possible Hara Arena efforts has once again prompted speculation about the location of Hamvention 2016.  The following official statement from Jim Tiderman, Hamvention General Chairman, should help answer those questions.

" In light of the Cox Media (Channel 7) television interview of 10-2-2015 and the ensuing Dayton Daily News article of 10-3-2015, I, as General Chairman of the 2015 - 2016 Dayton Hamvention want to assure all interested parties that the Dayton Hamvention is fully committed to the 2016 Dayton Hamvention at Hara Arena and Exposition Center, 1001 Shiloh Springs Road, Trotwood ,Ohio  on May 20, 21, 22, 2016.
 
All speculation and rumor towards anything else, is, just that, speculation. 

We still keep an open mind to alternate plans in case they become necessary. All successful businesses need to do that, and Hamvention is no different in that respect.

frequency of 7060 kHz during the upcoming CQWW SSB DX Contest as 
potentially catastrophic Hurricane Patricia heads for Mexico's Pacific 
coast.

This request comes from IARU Region II/Area C Emergency Coordinator 
Arnie Coro, CO2KK, who says additional frequencies on 40 and 80 meters 
may be required once Hurricane Patricia makes landfall later today 
(Friday).



According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Patricia is the 
strongest eastern North Pacific hurricane on record and is "heading for 
potentially catastrophic landfall in southwestern Mexico later today." 
As of Friday morning, the Category 5 storm had maximum sustained winds 
of 200 miles per hour (322 km/h).



Please avoid 7055-7065 kHz during the contest, to provide a clear 
frequency for the net on 7060.

Technical ReportThe announcement on the ? hour is now gone. And the Technical Committee is looking at the other announcements and will decide whether or not to keep them as is.Jammer- If anyone talks to the person who has been causing difficulties, please log the cpnversation. Date, time and any pertinent details and send them to Len WB2HKK. He will keep a file.It was decided by the membership to keep the squelch tail and courtesy tone off for now. The 220 MHz and 2 Meter repeaters are both working well.
Old BusinessWalter W2WIQ made a motion to change the amount of members needed to make a quorum to 11 members. This is due to the removal of inactive members from the club roster. W2LJ seconded and a show of hands voted the motion in unanimously.
Christmas PartyWalt W2WIQ will pick up the pizzas. Dave and Dan will supply the paper plates. All members are asked to bring bevrages and desserts.
New BusinessThe club will discuss in coming months a K2ETS auction, to be instituted as a fundraiser. This will be discussed further at the October meeting.
Health and WelfareMarty WB2BEW's wife is doing better than in the recent past.Marty KB2JSG is also feeling better and out of the hospital.John Manna WA2F had recently been in the hospital after suffering from fainting spells, He is also doing better.Frank KG2CJ was suffering from a build up of fluid in his lungs, but it also doing better and is expected to be coming back to meetings soon.
