I have to attend a CPR recertification class from 6:00pm till about 10.
As  a member of the Clark CERT team it is a requirement and since I

ETS NET CONTROL SCRIPT (rev 09/22/15)
Good evening, this is _______< Welcome to the ETS Wednesday night general information net. This net is operated and sponsored by the Electronic Technology Society of N.J., Inc. ?ETS?.  This is the Wachung repeater at 146.940, PL?d at 141.3 with the call K2ETS. We also run a backup repeater at a secondary site on the same frequency and call using a PL of 151.4. 
The club also operates a 220 repeater on 223.96, using the same call with a PL of 110.9. The 220 repeater is normally linked to the Raritan Valley Radio Club?s W2QW 440 repeater at 442.250 using a PL of 141.3. The 440 repeater offers IRLP, Allstar, as well as Echolink. 
Thanks to the generosity of the Raritan Valley Radio Club, we also use their W2QW repeater at 146.625 with a PL of 241.8.  We normally link the K2ETS and the W2QW repeaters for our nets, and doing so now.
The Raritan Valley Radio Club holds an informational social net on Sundays at 8pm. All radio amateurs are invited to participate with access available via all the repeaters that I just mentioned, including Echolink and All-star. RVRC also operates a repeater on 927.050.
My name is _________ and my Callsign is _________, I will be net control for this evening's session. Anyone having traffic for the net should direct their information to net control when acknowledged.
ETS holds meetings on the last Friday of each month at the Clark Municipal Building. The Municipal building is located at 430 Westfield Ave., Clark, NJ 07066. The next meeting will be ______________ at 8:00 PM. The November and December meetings are combined, and we usually run an announcement prior to all of our meetings on K2ETS 12/4/15.
I will now call for Check-In's. All stations wishing to be recognized please provide your Callsign, Name, and the Town you are calling from. Non-members are always welcome, so please feel free to join in. As Net control, I kindly ask that all stations wishing to Check-in, please wait for the current station to be acknowledged by Net Control to avoid multiple key-ups and the possibility of a missed check-in. Any stations not wishing to participate in the net can check in and state ?supporting the net? - we?d be happy to hear that you are out there.
All stations wishing to join us tonight please call Net Control at this time, but remember that with the various linked repeaters you should wait about 2-3 seconds to talk after hitting the Push-To-Talk, and that there is no ?courtesy beep? or Squelch tail. Please call NOW.

Raritan Valley Radio Club: Next session is 12/5/15 . Their location for exams is the Somerset Fire Academy at 402 Roycefield road in Hillsborough NJ. The exams start at 8:30 am with actual testing starting at 9:00 am. You must be there before the exams start or you will not be allowed to take an exam. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED,  Contact Drew, W2OU at 732-801-4654, or e-mail him at w2ou at arrl.net for further details.
If you are handicapped and need special assistance you must call in advance to give the examiners time to set up for your particular needs. This applies to both VE sessions that I just mentioned. 
You must bring your current original license and a photocopy, as well as any original CSCE(s) and a copy if you have prior element credits and are planning to upgrade. Bring a pen for the form 605, and a check in the amount of $15.00 made payable to "ARRL/ VEC".
Hamfest Information: If available, give the dates and times and location of any Hamfest or flea market in the local state area. 
Health and Welfare, Swap & Shop: Stations wishing to buy or sell items should provide their first name, phone number, or E-Mail address with a brief, but concise description of the item(s). Price maybe mentioned over the air. 
Communications directed to the club or a request for a membership application can be done by e-mail by directing your question to k2ets at arrl.net.

During the weekend I fixed my simple and low performance 20m dipole (it is under a tree!), though I was able to make couple of contacts in PSK31 mode with stations in France, Canada and some nearby states, it was fun.?
One operator was asking if this was like a special event station, perhaps it can be a good idea, as K2ETS is transmitting in different modes, we can try a special event, after all the club is providing each contact with a QSL, we can print some simple certificates, any idea on the type of event and date we can organize? has it been done before?

SELLER RULES


Each seller will register and get a seller's number.


Each item will be marked with the seller's number and a letter starting 
with A on the first item, B on the next, and so on. A small description 
of the item must be entered on the seller sheet by the matching letter.


EXAMPLE: "seller #2-A" is marked on the item. On the seller's sheet 
under 2-A a small description of the item is entered. EXAMPLE: "Kenwood 
TS50, misc. parts"


If an item has a minimum selling price, that minimum price must be 
marked on the label next to the item number.


If there is nothing marked on the item, it will be sold at the highest 
price bid, no matter what that is.


EXAMPLE: #2-A $50 min.


When it is time for your stuff to be sold, please pay attention to the 
auctioneer. Because if an item has a minimum price and that price is not 
reached but the bidding is close to the minimum, he will ask you if you 
would like to sell it for less than the minimum price.


EXAMPLE: If the minimum price is marked $50.00 and we only get a bid of 
$40.00 the auctioneer will ask you if you want to sell it for $40 or 
not.


If you have more than one of an item, the first one will be auctioned 
off and the rest will be offered for the same auction price.


EXAMPLE: You have five headsets (all the same) and the first one sells 
for $20.00. The other four will be offered at the winning price ($20.00) 
to other buyers.

Dan,

Besides inventory belonging to the club that members may have, how about the following:

1. Members donate their unused gear that is just gathering dust in their basement or garage to the club to be auctioned off

2. Members list gear they would like to auction off with a minimum reserve and the amount over the reserve or a percentage of the sell price going to the club

You can count me in to volunteer and help out in any way

Hi All, I will NOT be able to run our Wed night net 11/11/15.
I have to attend a CPR recertification class from 6:00pm till about 10.
As  a member of the Clark CERT team it is a requirement and since I
Used my CERT affiliation to secure our meeting place and second Saturday
VE testing site, it is sort of a ?gotta do?
Rudolpho N2HRJ will not be available so I am asking for someone else to ?JUMP IN?

ETS NET CONTROL SCRIPT (rev 09/22/15)
Good evening, this is _______< Welcome to the ETS Wednesday night general information net. This net is operated and sponsored by the Electronic Technology Society of N.J., Inc. ?ETS?.  This is the Wachung repeater at 146.940, PL?d at 141.3 with the call K2ETS. We also run a backup repeater at a secondary site on the same frequency and call using a PL of 151.4. 
The club also operates a 220 repeater on 223.96, using the same call with a PL of 110.9. The 220 repeater is normally linked to the Raritan Valley Radio Club?s W2QW 440 repeater at 442.250 using a PL of 141.3. The 440 repeater offers IRLP, Allstar, as well as Echolink. 
Thanks to the generosity of the Raritan Valley Radio Club, we also use their W2QW repeater at 146.625 with a PL of 241.8.  We normally link the K2ETS and the W2QW repeaters for our nets, and doing so now.
The Raritan Valley Radio Club holds an informational social net on Sundays at 8pm. All radio amateurs are invited to participate with access available via all the repeaters that I just mentioned, including Echolink and All-star. RVRC also operates a repeater on 927.050.
My name is _________ and my Callsign is _________, I will be net control for this evening's session. Anyone having traffic for the net should direct their information to net control when acknowledged.
ETS holds meetings on the last Friday of each month at the Clark Municipal Building. The Municipal building is located at 430 Westfield Ave., Clark, NJ 07066. The next meeting will be ______________ at 8:00 PM. The November and December meetings are combined, and we usually run an announcement prior to all of our meetings on K2ETS 12/4/15.
I will now call for Check-In's. All stations wishing to be recognized please provide your Callsign, Name, and the Town you are calling from. Non-members are always welcome, so please feel free to join in. As Net control, I kindly ask that all stations wishing to Check-in, please wait for the current station to be acknowledged by Net Control to avoid multiple key-ups and the possibility of a missed check-in. Any stations not wishing to participate in the net can check in and state ?supporting the net? - we?d be happy to hear that you are out there.
All stations wishing to join us tonight please call Net Control at this time, but remember that with the various linked repeaters you should wait about 2-3 seconds to talk after hitting the Push-To-Talk, and that there is no ?courtesy beep? or Squelch tail. Please call NOW.

Raritan Valley Radio Club: Next session is 12/5/15 . Their location for exams is the Somerset Fire Academy at 402 Roycefield road in Hillsborough NJ. The exams start at 8:30 am with actual testing starting at 9:00 am. You must be there before the exams start or you will not be allowed to take an exam. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED,  Contact Drew, W2OU at 732-801-4654, or e-mail him at w2ou at arrl.net for further details.
If you are handicapped and need special assistance you must call in advance to give the examiners time to set up for your particular needs. This applies to both VE sessions that I just mentioned. 
You must bring your current original license and a photocopy, as well as any original CSCE(s) and a copy if you have prior element credits and are planning to upgrade. Bring a pen for the form 605, and a check in the amount of $15.00 made payable to "ARRL/ VEC".
Hamfest Information: If available, give the dates and times and location of any Hamfest or flea market in the local state area. 
Health and Welfare, Swap & Shop: Stations wishing to buy or sell items should provide their first name, phone number, or E-Mail address with a brief, but concise description of the item(s). Price maybe mentioned over the air. 
Communications directed to the club or a request for a membership application can be done by e-mail by directing your question to k2ets at arrl.net.

legislation will be considered in the Senate Committee on Commerce,

important step in the bill's progress towards success.

We have learned that opponents of the legislation have urged their 
members to contact members of the Senate committee to communicate what 
can only be called bald-faced lies about the bill's intent and effects.

A number of steps are being taken to counteract those lies. We have to

their states want them to support the bill. I'm asking for your help as

The OMARC group in Wall Township Visited the Battleship New Jersey this 
past Saturday and it seems they enjoyed the venture, operation and tour. 
This is something we should consider do the road.

Jeff is 100% correct in the fact if you have never been on the tour it 
is definitely worth the trip.




It was a great day. We headed out from the Diana site and approx. 1hr 
and 15 mins later we arrived at the Battleship.




After the cursory stop at the facilities and paying for our tickets we 
met with Dave (our tour leader) who was anxiously awaiting our arrival. 
Dave had a full day set up for us.





Due to the size of the group and the size of the shack on board we 
needed to split up into two groups. The first group (Anan, Ron, Al and 
Denis)?stayed in the shack with Margaret while the second group (Jeff, 
Bob B, Joe, Art and myself) went on a tour with
  Dave. His knowledge of the ship made the tour absolutely outstanding. 
He also allowed us into some areas were the general public is not 
allowed.





When we got back to the radio room to meet up with the other group to go 
have lunch we found out that we had been gone so long they ate without 
us. So off to lunch we went at the ships on board galley.




After lunch the first group headed out to enjoy Dave's tour while we 
stayed in the shack to operate. Everyone had a part. Jeff jumped on 20 
meters, Bob B was on 75 & 80, Joe was on 15 which seemed to light up the 
minute he got on the air. I was on 40 which
  started very slow but did take off a little toward the end when others 
heard the battleship on the air. Art skillfully maintained order in the 
shack assisting us as needed with all the stations.





Operating from the ship was fun. It is always exciting to operate from a 
different place than the norm. The time on the air seemed to fly. It 
felt like we just got going when first group was back (a couple of hours 
later) and we had to say our goodbyes.





I can tell you all that someday I'm going back to do it again. Dave and 
Margaret were excellent hosts and Dave even stayed on the air with us as 
we left to help me realize I missed the turn I needed to get home and 
get me back on the correct path.




Thank you to everyone who helped give me one of the best days of my life 
that I will always remember.

Good Evening All,



I want to thank all those eight members who went to the

Battleship New Jersey today. Dave WA2TVS give us the grand tour and

arranged for us to get the group discount. We met up with Dave dock 
side,

then started the tour from the Club Station location. We divided into to

two groups. While the first group was doing the tour, the second group

worked the Club station. If you can handle going up and down steep

ladders and the walking, this is a must trip. The first tour went a

little long, so by the time we got done, the second group had already

eaten lunch in the galley. While the second group went on the tour the

first group did lunch and then got on the air. I was working Twenty

meters and had some good luck. Work about twenty stations. Rick N2RPQ

will be writing up a thank you letter, and I have asked that we send

along a Club Patch for them to hang on the bulkhead. Thanks All for 
going

we had a great time. Next trip we should think about is going to

Newington.

Good morning all, my name is Wayne. I am new to the list and to ham 
radio.
I'm looking to buy gear. I am blind so my rig needs to have speech 
already
installed or be able to be modified with a chip. As far as I know the 
meters
are not speech capable as of yet. Lights that indicate what the screen 
says
might work though. I hope to talk to you  all soon. Your suggesstions 
are
always welcomed.

I have a brand - new like ARRL Handbook from 1988. It's a MUST for ANY ham!.I will bring it with me this Friday....$15.00 takes it home - a bargain basement, cyber deal of the week!Contains 40 chapters loaded with everything a ham could want. Approximately 600 pages - way too big for a stocking stuffer! Let me know if any of you are interested.
