Hi Drew.  Flight has been canceled again due to weather.  I lost
visibility needed to launch.  Very hazy.  Rescheduled for Thursday July
16 at 7am.

Just as well...  Now I can order a 70cm antenna...  :)

Mike

Hi Pete,
I thought you had a 2m/70cm satellite Arrow antenna. Well I guess my
mind is shot. Well, hurry up and buy one, lol. Sorry Mike.

Are you able to help Mike out with your satellite antenna?

Drew

That would be ideal.  Can be mobile or base.  Something I can
temporarily mount to a tripod with telescoping pole.

Mike

We use KJI Electronics, HRO or CheapHams. HRO is in New Castle
Deleware, Cheaphams is in Toms River and KJI is in Cedar grove. There
will be tons available at the Sussex Hamfest on Sunday, not that that
helps you right now. What type of 70cm antenna are you looking for
(mobile, base or HT?). A friend of mine has an Arrow 2m/70cm beam
antenna for
satellite tracking work who may consider loaning it to you.

Drew

      Drew,

The launch is a go.  I was able to secure a helium tank.  Question
for you.  Do you know where I can buy a 70cm Yagi antenna locally?

      Hi Mike,

That's great news on the readiness to launch. For some reason I
thought Aug 26, was the launce date. Sunday July 12 is the day of the
Sussex Hamfest up at the Sussex Fair Grounds in Augueta, NJ. It's the
biggest Hamfest in NJ and many of the hams in this area will be heading
up that way early in the morning returning home near mid-day. Hopefully
they won't be too hammed out, lol.

Let me know if the launch is one and I'll announce it to the club.

  73,
  Drew

         Hello Drew.  I just
ran the flight models for the next 7 days and Sunday is looking to be
a absolute perfect day to launch.  I am going to begin to prepare for a
flight but I wont know until tomorrow morning when I can see if a helium
tank is available in the local area.  If I can get that the flight will
be on.

I have updated my website to include the fl-dl-digi software
that will be need and detailed instructions.  The frequency we transmit
on is 434.342mhz on the upper side band.  I will be transmitting for
most the evening testing all of the flight boards and telemetry.

My website is http://www.njhab.com <http://www.njhab.com> and
if the launch is a go we will be launching from Hillsborough NJ with
recovery scheduled for Hillsborough as well.  It will
basically be a straight up and down flight.  If you could send out the
note to the rest of the group and spread the word that would be great!

          Regards,

          Mike

Hello all.  Tomorrows schedule launch of the High Altitude
Balloon has been postponed due to predicted weather conditions.  Once I
have a reschedule date I will advise.  I will also be sending out some
instructions on frequency and other important information related to the
flight.
