Minutes for the Meeting on July 31st, 2015Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)
The Meeting was called to order by President Dave Vadney W2OIL at 8:10 PM.  This was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then by self-introductions of all those in attendance.  
Meeting MinutesThe June minutes were successfully e-mailed to all members. With that in mind, a motion was made by Mike N2JUN and Ron WV2RJR to suspend the reading and the minutes were accepted as published.
Treasurer’s ReportVictor K2NBC was absent, so there was no Treasurer’s Report.
CorrespondenceNone
Technical ReportRich KB2LLM reported the 220 receiver was not up to par and was not able to be repaired at a reasonable cost.  KB2LLM made the decision to order a new receiver and misc. required parts for $XXX.15
Len WB2HKK, Walter W2WIQ and Pete KD2ARB installed the new receiver and tuned up the duplexer and set up the amplifier. We are now getting 30 Watts out to the antenna. Walter will try to repair the old receiver and if successful, we will have a backup. 
Mike N2JUN made a motion, after the fact, to authorize the purchase of the new receiver, Seconded by Drew W2OU and approved unanimously by the membership.  There was discussion, and it was agreed that going forward, such purchases have to go through the normal process.
Old BusinessNone
New BusinessDon K2DSV is stepping down as Trustee for K2ETS.  Drew W2OU volunteered to take that responsibility on and will file the required paperwork with the FCC
The ETS of NJ Christmas party will be held on Friday, December 4th. As the date draws closer, W2LJ will send out an e-mail at the beginning of November to get a handle on attendance.
Walter W2WIQ and Rich KB2LLM mentioned that Vic K2NBC needs to look into why the ETS of NJ debit card has two names on it.  As it stands, it was not available for use during the purchase of the new 200 MHz receiver.
Drew W2OU brought to the attention of the membership that the Raritan Valley Radio Club will be holding their picninc on August 29th at 3:00 PM in Somerset, NJ. All are welcome – cost is $10.
Health and WelfareRobert Conroy KB2VMG, member of the Tri-County Radio Association and member of the ETS of NJ VE Team became a Silent Key. A motion was made by W2WIQ and seconded by W2OU to send a $25 dollar donation to the Wounded Warriors Project in memoriam of KB2VMG
AdjournmentA motion was made to adjourn the meeting by N2JUN and was seconded by W2WIQ. The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 PM.
