Hello group 
I'm Fred W2NNN and I recently joined K2ETS group.
I would like to pass this info.
The 1.25m SDR receiver is up and running in :
w2.noip.us:8901
It is working with a simple GP antenna, 5m of coax at roof elevation on my QTH, no preamp yet.
I still need adjust frequency accuracy but I'm getting some signals from the ETS repeater.
Let's try it and please send/post some comments about it.

Al served as an Alderman in Maggie Valley for many years, and his service to his community is a legend. He was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Maggie Valley, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Maggie Valley. Just a quick update on a few thing's. We do not have anyone for Vice President yet. So I'm asking again is their anyone who would like to take the position. I'm going to be making a road trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. Anyone
have any experience with local repeaters in that area?

Looking at the map, the park is right on the coast of Maine, should be
interesting to see what VHF/UHF repeaters can be hit.

Has anyone been to Acadia NP? If so, any suggestions for visiting the area?

I hope you were able to find the information on Acadis Nationla Park. If
not the following frequencies could serve as a basis. Acadis National Park
is within Hancock County, ME.

There are three 2m repeaters that you can program into your radio for

Minutes for the Meeting on July 31st, 2015Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)
The Meeting was called to order by President Dave Vadney W2OIL at 8:10 PM. ?This was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then by self-introductions of all those in attendance. ?
Meeting MinutesThe June minutes were successfully e-mailed to all members. With that in mind, a motion was made by Mike N2JUN and Ron WV2RJR to suspend the reading and the minutes were accepted as published.
Treasurer?s ReportVictor K2NBC was absent, so there was no Treasurer?s Report.
CorrespondenceNone
Technical ReportRich KB2LLM reported the 220 receiver was not up to par and was not able to be repaired at a reasonable cost. ?KB2LLM made the decision to order a new receiver and misc. required parts for $XXX.15
Len WB2HKK, Walter W2WIQ and Pete KD2ARB installed the new receiver and tuned up the duplexer and set up the amplifier. We are now getting 30 Watts out to the antenna. Walter will try to repair the old receiver and if successful, we will have a backup.?
Mike N2JUN made a motion, after the fact, to authorize the purchase of the new receiver, Seconded by Drew W2OU and approved unanimously by the membership. ?There was discussion, and it was agreed that going forward, such purchases have to go through the normal process.
Old BusinessNone
New BusinessDon K2DSV is stepping down as Trustee for K2ETS. ?Drew W2OU volunteered to take that responsibility on and will file the required paperwork with the FCC
The ETS of NJ Christmas party will be held on Friday, December 4th. As the date draws closer, W2LJ will send out an e-mail at the beginning of November to get a handle on attendance.
Walter W2WIQ and Rich KB2LLM mentioned that Vic K2NBC needs to look into why the ETS of NJ debit card has two names on it. ?As it stands, it was not available for use during the purchase of the new 200 MHz receiver.
Drew W2OU brought to the attention of the membership that the Raritan Valley Radio Club will be holding their picninc on August 29th at 3:00 PM in Somerset, NJ. All are welcome ? cost is $10.
Health and WelfareRobert Conroy KB2VMG, member of the Tri-County Radio Association and member of the ETS of NJ VE Team became a Silent Key. A motion was made by W2WIQ and seconded by W2OU to send a $25 dollar donation to the Wounded Warriors Project in memoriam of KB2VMG
AdjournmentA motion was made to adjourn the meeting by N2JUN and was seconded by W2WIQ. The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 PM.?

Came across a net tonight that was setup in St. Croix on 7.189 tadue to a bad tropical storm that has part of the island without communications. Amateur radio and hams always there when there is an  emergency!

    An excellent app for your smartphone is "RFinder". This app when
activated searches your area for all repeaters via GPS.Some of the repeater
websites are good but not updated.This app is available at the Google
playstore.

     Bar harbor is by Acadia National Pk.I've been there. Years ago you can
take a ferry from Bar harbor to Yarmouth N.S.Not sure if the service is
still available. You drive your car right on the vessel.
