[ETS/PARC List] 220 Mhz repeater

    Hello All

   Work was done yesterday on our repeater site.The 220 amp is working very
well&as a result,our coverage is increased dramatically.We showed 100 Watts
coming out of the amp&we figured by the time it would go through the
hardline&out the antenna,the wattage would be a little less than coming out
of the amp.This is acceptable.

    We also hooked up a system analyzer to check out both the 2 meter&220
repeaters.We found that there is a slight desensing issue on the 2 meter
repeater&we found this to be minimal.The 220 repeater showed to be within
normal limits.

    I wish to acknowledge the following gents who made this

          I would like to make a proposal to the membership here.Do we want
the 220 to be linked to anything or standalone full time? Ive been up&down
the Allstar system for a few months myself seeing the network at large.I
would like to propose these two nodes&this would be subject to membership
approval.The 2 meter repeater would be standalone as always.

      Allstar node 27339.This node is bridged to IRLP reflector 9050 which
is the East Coast Reflector.Its pretty active&the only drawback is
traffic.They have a tech net that is on 20:00 on Tuesday nights which I
find most informative.Here is the link

      The other link which the 220 is on now as a trial basis is node
27225,the node belongs to WA3DSP,name is Doug.Quieter than the east Coast
reflector&The WAN system.Again,this may be a good fit for us.See Link

     This node is pretty quiet much of the time.As you can see on the
Allstar page,its pretty much a localized network with several nodes long
distance.Not as overbearing as a major wide area system.This could work for
us.

    All nodes would be disconnected Sunday&Wednesday nights to accommodate
the nets via DTMF

     So,this is something to consider.Many of you old timers enjoy the use
of 220&here is a chance to generate interest on 220.Granted this is not
DSTAR or DMR but It may be a step in the right direction.Comments welcome
