[ETS/PARC List] Meeting Minutes

The last meeting was in December, so I figured I would mail these as close
to tomorrow night's meeting so they would be fresh in everyone's mind:


Minutes for the Meeting on December 6th, 2013

Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)



 The Annual Christmas Party started at 7:00 PM. Fine food and fellowship
was enjoyed by all. Special thanks go out ot those who cooked, served,
shopped or otherwise endeavored to make the party such a success!

The Meeting was called to order by President Jeff Lin N2VHV at 8:00 PM.
This was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then by
self-introductions of all those in attendance.

*Meeting Minutes*

As the minutes from the last meeting had been sent to all members via
e-mail, Jeff N2VHV asked for a motion to dispense with the formal reading.
A motion was made by Walter W2WIQ and seconded by Ron WV2RJR. Motion was
approved.

*Treasurer's Report*

Treasurer's report as of December 6th given by Vic K2NBC

Opening Balance - $XXXX.XX

Income - Donut money $X.XX, 50/50 money donated back to the club $XX.XX,
new member dues $XX.XX

Disbursements - $XX.XX to Verizon

Closing Balance - $XXXX.XX

Vic noted that we are $XXX.XX ahead of where we were last year.

Motion to Accept the Treasurer's Report was made my John N2LGS and seconded
by Walter W2WIQ. Motion was passed.

*Correspondence*

None.

*Technical Report*

Rich KB2LLM presented a report. The 2 Meter repeater is now hooked up to
All Star.

220 Repeater - The power amplifier has died. Despite Walter's best
attempts, the PA keeps popping capacitors and is running very hot. Rich
noted that this Mirage amp is at least 30 years old and has served well
over those years. Rich also noted that with the amplifier off, it was
easier to get the repeater's audio adjusted.

A proposal was made by Rich to link the RVRC and ETS machines during bad
storms and extreme weather.

It was decided to leave the 220 repeater connected to the Wide Area Network
in order to monitor weather conditions in Pennsylvania that will eventually
affect our area.

A motion was made to allow $XXX.XX for the purchase of a new power
amplifier for the 220 Repeater, The motion was made by Joe W2OZO and
seconded by George W2VFW. Two 5 inch muffin fans for cooling purposes were
to be donated by Larry W2LJ, The motion was passed by a unanimous vote from
the membership.

*Old Business*

None.

*New Business*

2014 Picnic - Walter W2WIQ brought up the subject so the park could be
reserved for the date by the second week of January, as bookings fill up
fast. Tentative dates of June 8th or the 22nd were proposed as well as the
spending of the $XX.XX park rental fee, The motion was made by Walter W2WIQ
and seconded by John N2LGS - and passed with approval by the membership.

Vic K2NBC brought to the membership's attention that Frank KG2CJ paid for
the pizza for the Christmas party.

Rich KB2LLM publicly recognized Walter W2WIQ and the Vadney brothers for
all their assistance to him and the Technical Committee.

Vic K2NBC reminded everyone present that it is Dues time again and that $XX
payments are to be made to ETS of NJ

A special "Thank You" was offered to Mrs Vadney for the home made pasta
fagioli that she brought for our enjoyment.

*Adjournment*

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Joe W2OZO and was seconded by
George W2VFW. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM
