Minutes for the Meeting on September 27th, 2013

Electronic Testing Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)



The Meeting was called to order by President Joe Cash W2OZO at 8:10 PM.  This
was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then by
self-introductions of all those in attendance.

Joe began with an explanation of the Agenda for business portion of the
night’s meeting which was to held after the viewing of the Scarborough Reef
DXpedition video. It was hoped that more members would arrive during the
video in order to provide a quorum for the meeting.

The Scarborough Reef DXpedition was shown, courtesy of Greg N2BSA and Don
K2DSV.

As no further members arrived, a provisional vote on the new slate of ETS
Officers was taken.  One vote for each was cast be the Acting Secretary,
Jeff N2VHV, and was approved by the membership present.  A subsequent vote
will be taken at the next meeting opportunity to completely validate the
election process.

2013 – 2014 ETS Slate of Officers (as provisionally approved)

President – Jeff N2VHV

Vice President – Dave W2OIL

Secretary – Larry W2LJ

Treasurer – Vic K2NBC

At this point, the meeting chair was taken over by Jeff N2VHV

*Minutes from Previous Meeting*

As the minutes from the last meeting had been sent to all members via
e-mail, Jeff N2VHV asked for a motion to dispense with the formal reading.
A motion was made by Larry W2LJ and seconded by Walter W2WIQ. Motion was
approved.

*Treasurer’s Report*

Treasurer’s report as of September 27th given by Vic K2NBC

Opening Balance - $2436.47

Income - $51.00 from the 50/50, Donut money $7.00, Dues $30.00 for a total
of $88.00

Disbursements - $43.81 to Verizon

Closing Balance - $2880.66

Vic noted that at this point last year, the treasury had a balance of
$2441.97, we are $438.69 ahead of where we were last year.

Motion to Accept the Treasurer’s Report was made my Walter W2WIQ and
seconced by Tim AB2ZK. Motion was passed.

*Correspondence*

Vic K2NBC had read a letter he had received from RadioCity, advertising Ham
Radio Starter Kits, which can be bought individually or as a club offering.



*Technical Report*

Jeff N2VHV gave a Summary Report on behalf of Rich KB2LLM who was not
present. There were no substantial changes to report.

New Slate of Officers was approved, pending final ratification by the
membership as soon as possible.

*New Business*

Tim AB2ZK had mentioned the fundraising activities previously mentioned to
us on behalf of RVRC. No formal action was recommended by the membership at
this time.

No mentions at this time

*Miscellaneous Business*

Joe W2OZO offered thanks, on behalf of the Club to Greg N2BSA and the NJDXA
for the Scarborough Reef video as well as the Yaesu ball caps he had
brought along to distribute to the members.

The Club offered a note of thanks to the outgoing Slate of Officers for
their time, talent and commitment to the ETS of NJ.

*Adjournment*

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Walter W2WIQ and was seconded
by Dan KC2YRC. The meeting was adjourned at 9:36 PM
