Unfortunately, I stumbled upon this message on Facebook this evening -
posted by Dennis' daughter.

"It is with great sadness that I inform the world of Facebook (because it
will be my voice through my tears) that my dad, Dennis Kopecky passed away
today. We don't know many details, and probably won't for a while, but he
knows that he will be missed. Once all three of us are on the same continent
we'll make arrangements. Right now I just wanted to share the news, and my
love, and my heart break to his friends who I may have never met. Good night
all, just know that he went beautifully and with his dog right by his side.
(Just as he would want it.)"

Needless to say I am shocked, Dennis was at the ETS picnic on Sunday and
seemed just fine. Dennis and I didn't always see eye to eye on some things,
but I enjoyed a relationship with him where the two of us could agree to
disagree - and still have a great deal of respect for each other - something
that is extremely difficult to do these days. He will be missed.

I am going to reach out to Dennis' daughter via Facebook and will advise
when I learn anything additional.

Please keep Dennis' and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
