I find it's easy to go to www.dcwg.org and depending on whether one gets a
green light or Red light they would take appropriate steps. Green indicates
that your computer isn't infected. If you get a Red light follow the steps
to uninfect your computer.

Subject: FBI DNS Changer malware advisory.

FYI -
Domain Name System or Server (DNS) is a service your PC automatically goes
to to find the Internet numerical address corresponding to the http:// name
location you're looking for. Normally DNS is your Internet service
provider.

PC users infected with a strain of malware called DNS Changer will face
their own personal Internet doomsday in July unless they disinfect their
computers, the FBI warns.
Users have until July 9 to rid themselves of the DNS Changer malware, which
can infect Windows PCs and Macs alike. After that, the FBI will throw a
switch that prevents infected computers from accessing the Internet.

How can they do that? That's because the FBI now controls those malware DNS
addresses. When they shut them off July 9, your computer (if infected) will
not connect to the internet as it will be trying to go to a non-existing
address.

You
can also Google 'DNS' for more info.
