[ETS/PARC List] ETS new Site - STATUS

Hello to all
At the meeting on Friday,  Jan 29, 2010
No  surprises here – the new repeater site and the work 
that has to be done was discussed..
The new site is located at 421  Johnson drive, and is visible
looking north as you drive on route 22 passing Ray’s Sport Shop.
It is right by the water tower.
The site is controlled by Somerset  County OEM and we would 
in fact be supporting them in any emergency situation. 
Our using the site has some really great advantages to us.
We put our  equipment in their HEATED and AIR CONDITIONED 
building at no cost. The building provides us with POWER, UPS 
and a Diesel Generator – FREE..
Our only cost associated with using this  site is the telephone.

Setting up at the new site is going to cost  us money because 
it has to be done right, and by a professional installer. We have 
secured a few estimates regarding the installation, and they are 
close, and are in the three thousand dollar range.

The  installation would include the tower mounting hardware, 
needed cable clips, 250 feet of new ½ inch hardline, as well 
as all the needed fittings and materials for both the two meter 
and the two-twenty antennas, all labor included, provided by 
the installer.

All members that were present at the meeting  voted, 
approving the expenditure of $3,300.00 to pay for this  project.

Looking at this money issue, if you have not paid your  club 
dues yet for 2010 (they are still only $20.00) we really could 
use the money.
If you would care to make a FREE WILL contribution  towards 
covering these expenses, It would be greatly appreciated, 
and you wouldn’t be the first member to do it.
