Don't forget your check for the picnic if you have not done it yet - the
picnic is ALWAYS a fun time.
Personal note: I am going on vacation with my family and am leaving early
tomorrow. Thus I am sending this out early so I KNOW that you will get it.
I also will be unable to attend the meeting but Victor (KC2NBC) will watch
the store as far as the secretary duties.
PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS my being away on the air - There are bad guys out
there with scanners and I am "good in the book".
Minutes of the July meeting:
The meeting was called to Order at the Clark Municipal Building by
President Joe W2OZO at 8:07 PM, starting with the Pledge of Allegiance
and roll call.
Minutes of the last meeting as prepared by Victor KC2NBC, were read by
Jeff N2VHV.
With corrections to the picnic date cutoff to 8/21 and correcting Jerry’s
call from
W2WD to K2MD, Tim AB2ZK moved to accept, seconded by Larry W2LT..
Treasurer’s Report - Victor, KC2NBC stated that the current balance was
$x,xxx.97.
Accepted by Harvin K2CPA, and seconded by Jerrry KD2KC.
Correspondence - No correspondence was reported. Nothing heard back from
Somerset County.
Technical Report – No report was given. The club still has not heard back
from MetroCor.
Old Business – Victor told us the equipment inventory has to be updated
for insurance.
Walter W2WIQ reported that the picnic is going well and that the caterer
is charging us $11.00 per person.
New Business – KC2YRB – Dave, KC2YRC – DAN, and WA2AM were admitted as
new members. Joe W2OZO also announced that Eric NW2P of the RVRC club
would be
hosting the VHF weekend at his QTH on Sept 11.
Paul KC2VRJ of the RVRC club did a Demo/Presentation showing the Asterisk
repeater
Contoller software, which was very well done.
This prompted general discussion where we learned that the software is
free but we will
need a little black box to interface the radio with the computer – these
boxes are only
$85.00 each. Larry W2LJ moved that we proceed with this as a project with a
$300.00
limit. This was seconded by Rich KB2LLM – passed.
Joe, W2OZO informed us that Somerset told us that we have to clean house a
bit at the site.
He is working with them.
Rich KB2LLM mentioned that we should look into the PARC amateur equipment.
50/50 – was won by Frank KG2CJ who donated the $40.00 to the club.
Motion to adjourn was made by Pete W2NJU and seconded by Larry W2LJ.
Meeting closed at 10:34 PM.
There are 28 names on the sign-in sheet with 26 members
Respectfully submitted by Jeff Lih N2VHV
