Hi,
Please advise your club membership of the following event. Anyone
may sign-up to work this event by e-mailing me at

The Newark Amateur Radio Society needs amateur radio operators for
the Bicycle Tour of Newark, New Jersey, on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18,
2010, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. (Rain Date: Saturday, September 25,
2010). There will be a 5-mile course and a 25-mile course.
We need 40 radio operators for this event. Please sign up by
Tuesday, August 10, 2010, by e-mailing me. This allows us to properly
plan assignments. Operators will be assigned to mile posts,
checkpoints, bikes, mobiles, ambulances, lead and trail cars, as
shadows to event coordinators, etc.
Please participate. This is a large event and, therefore, great
practice if you're helping with the upcoming NY City Marathon. We
will send out information to those who sign up and there will be a
meeting immediately before the event start;, so, this is a great
opportunity even if you have never worked communications for an event
before.
The staging area for the event is downtown Newark. For those who
drive, there will be a designated parking area. For those who take NJ
Transit trains, the staging area is only an 8-minute walk from Newark
Penn Station. Talk-in repeater information will be provided.

Please pass this e-mail on to other Amateur Radio operators and
organizations, and announce it over any local nets that you
participate in so that any who wish to participate may do so. We
would like to sign up operators as soon as possible. If anyone is
