Long time Novice Class amateur radio operator. Walter Cronkite KB2GSD passed away this afternoon. Walters life long accomplishments are too numerous to be listed here.

Walter Cronkite was news broadcasting.  Walt was also keenly interested in ham radio from his early days in Texas.  His work totally consumed his time but in his few last remaining years at CBS, he achieved his dream of having a ham license.  Those of us who grew up getting our news from Walter Cronkite will never forget him and his inimitable delivery of daily news.  Many of us have missed him delivering our news since his retirement in 1981.  SK
