So here it is. -  I just spoke to him via  Cell phone this AM.
He is in the Rehab center and is doing well and in good  spirits.

He does not yet have "wander around the building" permission but  does have 
an HT.
We tried several repeaters with very limited success.   When he is allowed to 
wander around and can get to the east side of the building  he should do MUCH 
better.
