Charles 'Chick' Dimiceli Sr. 
86, barber, great-grandfather 
Tuesday, August 21, 2007 
HACKETTSTOWN -- Charles "Chick" Dimiceli Sr. WB2SMT died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. He was 86. 
He lived in Hackettstown for 84 years, coming from Bayonne, and was born in Bayonne on June 9, 1921. 

He was a barber and worked in the family barbershop, Chick's Barber Shop, which was established on Main Street in Hackettstown by his family in 1922. He also worked as a part-time bartender at various establishments: The Clarendon Hotel, Larison's Turkey Farm and Class & Hurley. He also worked as a TV repairman. 
He served in the Army from 1942-1944 during World War II.
 
He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church Of the Assumption in Hackettstown, where he received his First Holy Communion and served as an altar boy. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post No. 164 in Hackettstown and a member of many ham radio clubs in New Jersey. 
He was the grand marshal of the Hackettstown Memorial Day Parade in 2004. He attended Hackettstown High School and was an avid Hackettstown sports fan since the 1930s. He loved to fish, was a self-taught computer whiz and loved his family. 

He was the husband of the late Margaret Marie (Smith) Dimiceli, who died on Aug. 17, 2007, and the son of the late Charles and Julia (Wenzel) Dimiceli 
He also is predeceased by a brother, Arthur Dimiceli, and by two sisters, Angolina Applegate and Anna Rich. 
He is survived by two sons, Charles Jr. and his wife, Linda Dimiceli of Hackettstown, and John and his wife, Louise Dimiceli of Great Meadows; a daughter, Mary Ann and her husband, Walter Lencewicz of Hackettstown; five grandchildren, Greg Dimiceli, Daryl Dimiceli, Denise Lencewicz, Sherry Lenciewicz and John Dimiceli; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kelsey and Andrew.
 
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, from 4-8 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. 
Mass will be on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church Of The Assumption, 305 High St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joan Knechel Cancer Center, C/O Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, 651 Willow Grove St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840, or to Common Sense for Animals, P.O. Box 148, Stewartsville, N.J. 08886, would be appreciated. 

Interment will be at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows.
