Each year South Plainfield hosts a fabulous parade and evening
fireworks.
Each year we need ham radio volunteers to help with the parade passing
control information to parade central (OEM).
We need ham radio volunteers for either or both morning (parade)
or/and
fireworks.
Morning schedule is from 8 a.m. until parade is concluded (about
12:30 p.m.)
Evening schedule is from 5 p.m. until fireworks display is concluded
(about 9:30 p.m.)
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS UNLESS YOU DESIRE TO DO SO!
If you bring your 2 meter handheld it would be a plus but we have a
limited number on hand.
Last year, a "picnic" was held and food was provided for volunteers
after the fireworks at the rescue squad facilities. It is ASSUMED that
this will occur again this Labor Day!
If you are available and wish to volunteer, e-mail to me and I will
pass
it on to SP-OEM.
