Hello to all, Just a reminder that the November ETS meeting will be combined
with the December meeting which will be on Friday December 10.
The meeting will NOT happen this Friday (the day after Thanksgiving).

I would also like to wish EVERYONE a great Thanksgiving, and remember that
it has been more than a couple of months since most of us celebrated our 21'st
birthday so...
TAKE IT EASY !!
I am also including an attachment in notepad format that addresses strokes
amd heart attacks. I pray that none of us needs this, but knowing about is a
good thing.
Enjoy and best 73 de Jeff (N2VHV)

Is it a Stroke? Heart Attack?
This might be a lifesaver if we can remember the three questions!

Is It a Stroke?
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack
of awareness spells disaster for the stroke victim. A stroke victim may suffer
brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms.

Now doctors say anyone can recognize a stroke by asking 3 simple questions:

* Ask the individual to smile.
* Ask him or her to raise both arms.
* Ask the person to speak a simple sentence.

If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and
describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Is It A Heart Attack? Read this... It could save your life!!

Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate
out into your arm and up into your jaw.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the
person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only
about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

These victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep
and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up
until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart
and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps
it regain normal rhythm.

If you are in your car:
1. STOP - engine off, 4 way flashers ON, Headlights ON, Wipers ON.
2. Call 9-1-1 on your cell phone, if you can't talk, beep your horn.
KEEP the conection - that way they can track you.

If you are at home:
1. Call 9-1-1, if you have a burgler alarm, hit the PANIC button.

The idea is to get help FAST, and make it easy to find you.

The cell/911 thing, even if you can't talk, enables the 911 person to track you
to an area by triangulation, or if your cell is GPS enabled it is even easier.

Tell as many people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
