So far we have not been successful in getting the NJ Antenna Support
Structure Bill A-3065 out of committee. If you have not done so please
write to the Assemblymen's addresses listed in the Hudson Division web
page announcement. There will probably be action once the State's Budget
is set. Until then, we need to keep the letter writing up. Your effort
will help when we start
meeting with legislators again in June. The Ocean-Monmouth ARC held a
special event station, N2MO, during International Marconi Day. They had
a petition
available for visitors to sign. The club also holds an "Open Night" each
month at the InfoAge site in Wall. Check the OMARC web page for more
info. In other
club news; the New Providence ARC is sponsoring a Recreation girls
softball team and has just received ARRL approval for their ARISS
project. The Tri-County ARA has been holding kit building nights and
getting members
involved in QRP operation. Garden State ARA members W2OD and KC2Q
received QCWA plaques at the April QCWA Marconi Chapter Dinner. W2OD for
being licensed 50 years and KC2Q for Meritorious Service to QCWA.
Congratulations, Bob and
Mike. The 10-70 Repeater Association VE team gave a VE session at the
Cedar Crest Village Retirement Complex. The result was three new hams
ranging in age from 78 to 83. This just goes to prove learning is a
lifetime experience.
Their teacher is W2ZF who is a young 88 years old! In Section ARES news;
KY2MMM has been appointed the new DEC for Union County and AA2ZJ is the
DEC for Middlesex County. Both are very active Tri-County ARA members.
W2UH and
his very active Chatham RACES group continues to attract new hams and
experiment with APRS and DF techniques. Many in the group are also ARES
members. Don't forget Field Day is coming up. Web master N2WZB will
gladly post your group's or club's announcement. Long time Raritan
Valley RC member Mike Koroly, WA2HMU became a Silent Key recently. Mike,
known as the "Mayor of Manville" will be missed by his many ham radio
friends. 73, Bill Hudzik, W2UDT
