Jamboree On the Air (JOTA) has always been an excellent opportunity to
introduce Boy Scouts to Amateur Radio and to talk with Scouts in other
countries.  This year's JOTA, which is sponsored by the World Scout Bureau
and BSA's International Division, will be held Saturday, October 18, 2003.

In recent years, the Delaware Valley Radio Association (DVRA) has promoted
Amateur Radio and it's hosting of Scouts for JOTA at W2ZQ through a display
and participation at the Central New Jersey Council's annual Program
Kick-off.  This year's Program Kick-off will be held at Manville High School
on Saturday, June 14th from 9 AM until 1 PM.  Leaders from all scout units
in Warren, Hunterdon, Mercer and Middlesex counties will be attending to get
ideas to include on their unit calendars.

If your radio club is planning to host JOTA this year, please provide me
with details and contact information by June 1 so we can include the
information in a flyer to be handed out at the exhibit.  If you have hams
who present themselves well, preferably with Scouting experience, who would
like to participate in the display on  June14th, please have them contact me
