One last thing on this.  When I completed the Return Auth form that was sent
to me, the last page had pretty good instructions for packing, including 
removing
the power-plug (or paying to have it removed), removing and 
holding-on-to the transformer,
not using peanuts as packing material (probably due to the mess and 
static) and how
much padding to use, what screws to put back in and all that.

So, just a more reading and paperwork and I would have annoyed a lot 
less people!  <chuckle>
