Hello Mike,

ETO made the 77D/Dx/Sx series of amps in a couple of different shades of
tan. The color is not an indicator of the model. For a few years in the
early 80's they used the paint that later turned sticky.

Alpha/Power had replacement panels made with a darker brown enamel paint
(similar in color to the later 78 amps) in the late 90's after ETO was sold
and Alpha/Power became a company on its own. All of those front panels
were labeled 77Dx (that was the model of most of the original amps).

Frontier Engineering began offering the panels in black as replacements
in the late 90's. Frontier Engineering is Dave (AA0RS) Wilson's company,
he was the President of Alpha/Power for a few years (until early 1998)
after it split off from ETO. Frontier Engineering has no connection to
Alpha/Power.

Alpha/Power will probably be ordering panel sets (front, top, side) again
shortly. I don't know what color they will be at this time.
