Dear Ron, et. al.,
I think there are switched padders on 15, 20 & 40 CW in the Alpha 78.
Therefore I would peak at 7050, 14050 and 21050 and then switch to phone
with the toggle switch and make sure the peak outputs were in the middle of
the phone bands.
I think I remember one of the hints years ago was to change the 80 meter
padder to peak output at your favorite parts of the band. ie: If you
operate a lot at the bottom of 80 CW, peak using the posted position at 3525
instead of 3600, then check the peak on phone with the toggle switch and if
it is not in your favorite part of the band repeak in the phone section with
the toggle switch in phone, then check CW and if it is not low enough, add a
small padder to get from say 3600 down to 3525 or what ever.
    comments please
73 George K8GG
