I have purchased and tested the 3CPX800A7 in my Alpha 89. Original tubes 25w in 60ma grid plate 2 bars under one amp out=1500w 3CPX800a7 20w in 40ma grid plate 2 bars under one amp out=1500w The tuning and loading were virtually the same.
