HELP!
Sunday while ragchewing, one of the relays in my Alpha 91B decided to
not go to RX position. Here are the simptoms:
1. It is such that with the Alpha off, I can run the transceiver through
the amplifier.
2. With the amplifier on, either in Standby or Operate positions, one of
the internal relays is activated to TX position. Then I can hear only using
the RX antenna jack which has a beverage antenna selector attached. One
cannot run "barefoot" with the amplifier on.
3. With the amplifier on, I can transmit through the amplifier, if I use
the RX antenna jack for receiveing on a separate antenna.
My first guess is that a component on a relay circuit has failed and is
pulling one of the relays to ground. I have not opened up the box (yet) but
will do so today.
    All thoughts will be appreciated.
