Hi all,

Given the number of people subscribed to this list, I'm guessing more than
a few of you are newcomers to Elecraft. Maybe you heard about us from a
friend. Maybe you're just kicking the tires.

Whatever the reason you're here -- great to have you! We know what it's
like to wade into a new pool, not knowing what to expect, who to talk to,
or what to ask (or not). This list is the right place to ask questions --
from trivia to deeply technical to whimsical to philosophical, as long as
it's at least tangentially related to Elecraft.

Of course we at the mothership in Watsonville, California, monitor the list
closely. In addition there are many regulars here who are knowledgeable on
a wide range of topics, not just about our gear but amateur radio in
general. And it's a civilized bunch...we're proud of the sense of community
you'll find here.

As for me, I'm one of two company co-founders, the other being Eric Swartz,
WA6HHQ. While Eric pretty much runs thing, my focus as company CTO is
product development and improvement. I'm also the guy to email if you have
a new product idea. Many of these start right here (or on the K4 list, or
the KX/KH/AX list) as a conversation, tossing things around.

You can generally find any specific product info you're looking for at
www.elecraft.com, including full manual downloads. If something's missing,
feel free to email or call our amazingly cheerful sales team. You can also
email me directly if you'd like an opinion, biased or not (let me know
which :-) about how our gear stacks up against everything else. You'll find
other clues on that topic in our occasional newsletter (see
https://elecraft.com/pages/elecraft-newsletter).

If you're new to the hobby, too, don't be shy. We all started in more or
less the same place you did, and we all want you to get the most out of it.

73,
Wayne
