Good Evening,

    Early today I heard squealing from the ridge to my south, then from 
the ridge to the north.  The first was a group of coyotes, the second 
was an elk.  They repeated a few rounds and then were quiet.  Later a 
Gray Jay dropped from the canopy as I stood on the deck.  They are rare 
at this level during the summer; they migrate up into the tops of the 
trees during early spring.  They move back down in the fall to drive the 
Steller's Jays crazy all winter.

   A few days back the sun was quiet.  Then one spot woke up and threw a 
CME our way.  Solar flux is above 100 again too.  More than enough 
activity to feed the ionosphere.  We can test it again tomorrow.
