[Elecraft] KH1 Memory Recording??

Hi Ken...

I think entering TST mode is what's going on. I've not yet programmed any messages into my KH1 but I don't recall having had to enter TST mode when programming my KX2 messages. 

Two other things supporting my theory: First, page 17 (right side) states that TST mode is used for 'CW practice'; not 'CW practice and entering messages'. Second, the section that you reference on page 18 says 'All message operations start with a press of MSG....' As such, I don't get the impression that one first needs to toggle TST mode on. 

Throw it on a dummy load -not that you'd need to- and try it!

Hi all,
Been trying to record a CQ in the M1 slot.
I can send for about 29.24 seconds and the display changes to TX TEST END and that's it.
I have the xmtr in the TST mode. I have to think that's where it's supposed to be w/o burning the battery in actual xmit!
Anyway, can't complete a CQ message to it's end w/o it stopping at TX TEST END. I could keep sending but that's where it ends in playback.
Thats all it plays back.....the CQ message till the TX TEST END comes up. Just cuts it off there.
I followed page 18 on the right side.

What's going on??
