Good Evening,

    The ferns are now tall enough to hide a feeding elk.  I noticed this 
while standing on the front deck.  I said something to a passing 
hummingbird when the facing hillside sprouted big brown heads.  First 
one, then many, then even more.  There must have been forty of them when 
they all departed stage right.  After the ferns are fully unrolled their 
passing will only produce a wave in the undergrowth.

    The sun may not have a lot of spots but one group keeps flaring.  We 
are currently in a geomagnetic storm stirred by a passing CME.  There 
may be more on the way due to the exuberance of sunspot #4087.  
Conditions could be better than they have been over the last few weeks.  
I imagine they will be different and let it go at that :)
