[Elecraft] KXPD1 wanted

Hi K3/VHF- friends
I am experiencing a strange problem during the VHF contest. When I start 
a transmission, the K3(with new synth boards) transmits ~4kHz off 
frequency, and 1-2 seconds later is transmitting on the correct frequency.
I was wondering why many stations did not copy the first letter of my 
call, so I asked one of the less busier guys about it. He told me that 
he hears a plopp and then my voice. After a second advise I looked up 
the spectrum on my spare rig and surprise - it really jumps!
What's even more surprising is that this effect does only occur if my 
pre-amp is turned on!
So, my first question is - how can the TRX-frq jump at all? Note I have 
turned off the rig for 15mins and on again - still there, so I doubt 
temp issues.

My K3 has the KXV144, KXREFLK-Board, and TXCO.
