Hi Frank,

The best place to start talking is with Elecraft. Keith, WE6R, is one of 
several fine technicians who work on their repair benches, and he often 
responds to questions on another reflector, Elecraft-K3 at groups.io 
Elecraft is local to me, so I know some of the guys who work there. I 
met Keith several years ago when he worked on one of my 2008-vintage 
K3s. He's also part of team that maintains a network of linked VHF and 
UHF repeaters.

If he doesn't want to use that reflector, he can call Elecraft. Someone 
who works in their main facility answers the phone and will put the 
caller in touch with Keith or another of their techs. They are very 
willing to give "do-it-yourself" advice if you want to do it that way.
