Hi,
In the meantime, I have probably made some progress.
I set up the K2 in another room in the garden for operation, and then I
dismantle it again in the evening. I looked at the steps involved in
dismantling and putting it away, trying to do things differently to see
if the problem would occur again after turning on the K2 the next day.
In particular, I carefully folded in the tilt stand without
bumpingthebottomcovertoomuch. Since there might be a connection there, I
removed the bottom cover before switching on and tried to activate the
distorted audio signal by tapping some places a plastic rod.
I discovered that the problem could actually be triggered by tapping the
two 1/4" standoffs (Figure 6-3). One of the standoffs was slightlyloose
because the #4 lock washers were missing from both screws. I have now
added these.
I have to check if the audio problem occurs again when the tilt stand is
folded in tighter. I also need to try triggering the problem by tapping
other components in this area.
Once the distorted audio signal has been triggered, this can be
corrected by changing the band several times. However, a connection with
switching to the 20m band in particular has not been confirmed.
Apparently the effect is triggered by a vibration. The connection
between the bumping on the two standofs and the distorted audio signal
is still not clear to me. It is also not clear why the signal returns to
normal after changing the band several times.
