Good Evening,

    The week began hot and dry.  Then nighttime fog returned. Nights in
the mid 50s, sunny days in the low 70s.  The added moisture is boosting
berry production.  In the last week I ate wild strawberries,
huckleberries, thimble berries, black raspberries, and a few salmon
berries.  The forest holds a variety of scents.  Lots of bird, bee, and
butterfly activity around the new flowers.  A flock of immature Gray
jays followed me during my hike today.  I'm not sure if the flock
remained the same or if they worked in relays.

    Our sun is covered with sunspot groups.  Some large and unstable;
most less so.  Solar flux is high so we have plenty of ions to bounce
signals around.  Hopefully they will bounce in the right direction.  I
expect QSB will be moderate to high this week.  Summer storms seem to
affect the forty meter net more than the twenty meter one.  It takes a
while for thunderstorms to mature.

Please join us on (or near) :

14050 kHz at 2200z Sunday (3 PM PDT Sunday)
  7047 kHz at 0000z Monday (5 PM PDT Sunday)

    73,
       Kevin.  KD5ONS
