[Elecraft] K3 Power Control

Thanks for the input on my problem. I reviewed forums etc. and this is a
very common problem. The K3 Utility allows me to easily control the RF
Power, Comp & Monitor without a problem. I built this transceiver and there
is no way I am going to tear the front panel down to change the encoder. It
is too invasive for this 82 year old chap.

My Elecraft K3, Serial # 6375, I bought in 2012 and built. It has been and
still is a great rig. The only problem now that is irritating is the power
control is erratic. Sometimes it will not change, sometimes it moves the
power increments slowly, erratically. The Comp position of the control
exhibits the same erratic behavior. I am not sure if it is the potentiometer
or something else.

 

Any ideas on the cause would be greatly appreciated.
