Dave,
Be aware that the 9 pin connector on the K2 does (should) contain the
RTS and DTR signals.
That connector is NOT an RS232 connector - it is labeled AUX IO for that
reason.
Connecting the full set of RS232 signals to that connector can damage
the K2.
It contains internal K2 signals for control of external Elecraft devices
like the KAT100.
See the KIO2 or KPA100 manual for the special cable that is to be used
on this connector and note that it should only connect the TXD, RXD and
signal GND to the computer - the other pins are for internal K2 signalling.
