[Elecraft] K2, distorted audio signal

Hello,

It's time for another interim report.

After installing the two standoffs as described in the manual, I used
the K2 for a few days, folding the tilt stand a little more firmly
against the bottom cover. The distorted audio signal no longer occurred.
After temporarily restoring the standoff screw connection to its
previous state, I found that the effect could not be triggered by
tapping the slightly loose standoffs.

It's all very confusing.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the problem with the distorted audio
signal did not reoccur after tapping various other components and
correctly fastening the standoffs a few times.

The exact cause of the issue remains unclear, but I suspect it may be
due to a mechanical problem with a component, such as a relay, or a
solder joint. The vibration caused by folding the tilt stand or tapping
the slightly loose standoffs may have been indirectly transmitted to
another location.

I will have to wait for the problem to occur again, and then I will
continue trying to find the exact cause.

First of all, thank's for your contributions, including those about the
circuit boards. I primarily use a K3, as well as a K1 and a K2. However,
the K2 is still the device that impresses me the most in terms of
concept and design. You can open the covers, look inside, measure
components, and even repair or modify something yourself. Ingenious, but
apparently no longer appropriate.

In the past, Peter Zenker (DL2FI, sk) here in DL (QRP Project) was a
direct contact for Elecraft products who selflessly provided amateur
radio operators with advice and support. But times are changing. The
Elecraft mailing list is still a place where you can find expert advice.

Thank you very much for everything so far. If I find out anything, I
will report it here.
