Yes, I've heard the sounds as well.   Disgusting and down right illegal.

My take:  Folks should learn how to configure the computer and radio so 
as not to transmit unwanted sounds.   It is very easy to do.   Of course 
many hams believe if the dang connector will plug in, it should work.   
This is far from accurate!
