I used a RF noise bridge for trimming the five dipoles in my homemade
cobweb antenna. It's not as handy as an antenna analyzer but does the job.

So I either got help from assigned person, or just played with things anyway. I appreciate what you said about antenna, because I found through the years That the best way to get a good radiating antenna is to play with it until it receives well. It wasn’t until the TW one talking SWR meter that I had any way to measure residence with numbers. Previously, I was using a device that would use the RF radiated to Activate an oscillator. As my output went up my tone in the oscillator changed. If I set it upright, the higher, the output, the higher the tone. So I could then play with my wire antenna until I seem to get maximum output. I never didn’t know what the SWR was Until 10 years ago or so. I have found that experimenting like this is a really really fun challenge. And I have also found like you, that resident antenna. Don’t necessarily make that much difference. Thank you for the clarification, some of these YouTube guys are way out there. I was a car mechanic for over 40 years, and I cringe sometimes when I watch auto repair videos.
