[Elecraft] Bitten By The K2 Bug

Hi Tony,
Keep an eye out not only on this 'official' Elecraft reflector for K2 radios advertised for sale, but also on some of the broad spectrum ham swap sites. I check eham.net, qrz.com, and swap.qth.net classified listings several times each week. I saw that Guy, N1GMM offered one of his K2's, and that's a great start.
You asked about support for the K2. I see that Elecraft is once again shipping K2 kits and some modules after an extended backorder situation, most likely due to parts unavailability. Technical support is readily available both on this forum and via Dave, W8FGU, who services the Elecraft legacy products including the K2. There is a wealth of technical knowledge on the K2 and its options among regular readers of this forum - ask away!
Parts availability for repairs of a K2 and associated modules may be less of an issue than for the K3/K3s. Elecraft had to re-engineer some adapter boards to use SMD parts where through-hole parts are no longer available for the K2, but most of the parts are still readily available. I'm more worried about replacement parts for my K3 than my K2 - as the radio complexity increases, the likelihood of sophisticated ICs becoming obsolete increases.
73,
Mike, K8CN
