 Hello Tony, Guy, N1GMM here.
K2 bug huh? Well I too have been bitten, and I have repaired/ugraded/fixed
many of them.
1. The CW pitch and slight changes you hear are all adjustable and it just
takes time to get the filter adjustments good. You can play with this
yourself if you like doing technical things. K2 documentation is great
here.. but can be confusing. Your radio is normal. For each radio the
filters will need to be adjusted for the preferred pitch. Eg.. if you are
old 600-650 hz is nice.. (I am 68)
2. I do have a brand new 100 watt unit I built and a K2 I helped with on
the elecraft forum that I have gone thru.. It does not have the 160 module
but has everything else (NOT the old DSP module). the K2 serial is 8004
and there is not a serial for the 100 watt unit I could include which will
also include the old case top and ATU tuner.. All latest SW.
3. I dont need 2 K2's (I have had up to 4)... My go to box is #157 with
all mods fully upgraded.
I am known on the forums. N1GMM.. I love to fix and repair rigs.. but dont
need several!

If you are interested in talking about this send me an email to " guy at
