Agree. Unfortunately, the CM500, which I've been using for 15 years and 
love, was discontinued a few years ago.

The key to almost any mic is to roll off the low end with TXEQ. Start by 
setting the three lowest bands (50, 100, and 200 Hz) for max cut (-18), 
cut 400 Hz by 6 dB, and get reports. AFTER doing that EQ, set COMP so 
that the display shows about 10 dB of gain reduction on voice peaks.

This combination of settings is good for about 13 dB of talk power, 
which turns 5W into 100W, 100W into 2kW!
