Thanks for sharing your experience and the link. You're right about the 
front panel of my K3 and it is not getting better as I age. :/

On a side note, I find a good desk lamp useful in front of the rig (and 
other locations) as well. Particularly if I can arrange the light source 
such that it does not shine in my eyes.

The next question is: Is it radio quiet?
