[Elecraft] K3s "ERR PTT" upon WSJT-x transmit or PTT using Xubuntu

I have switched my computer over to the latest version of Xubuntu and 
using WSJT-x  and getting the ERR PTT trying to transmit from WSJT using 
CAT. I believe I have the correct sound card chosen as there are lots 
more in the selection than there was in Windows. Plugging in the USB 
cable then reading the log using dmesg gets me the port and then also 
the sound card. I am able to receive signals and decode. USB Cable has 
not been moved.

I am not sure it is the radio as it was working in windows before 
swapping the hard drive out and installing Xubuntu. Any ideas as to 
where to look or fix?
