At one time I was allowed to run 1KW DC input to my Class C AM transmitter.  At 70% efficiency I had 700 watts of carrier modulated to 100% for an output of 2800 watts PEP.  Now who got screwed with the 1500 watt PEP limits?  

Let’s not whine about your 1500 watts and 12 dB antenna.
