Good Evening,

It was much easier to run the nets when the sun was less active.
Currently I get more email than I do check ins :( However, the peak of
this sunspot cycle cannot be too far off. There was a little noise on 20
meters, but more on 40 with a summer storm in the middle distance.  QSB
was not as deep as it had been but signals were weak all across the board.

Just before the 20 meter net clouds started rolling in northwest of
me.  After the net they had moved north of me too. By the time the
second net came around they had also moved to the northeast.  There are
no clouds above me since they are following the Columbia River valley.
If they flow up the Willamette basin too I will be surrounded :)

I have an Ocean Spray bush outside of both of the nearby windows.
Throughout the year they feed numerous species of birds, rodents, and
insects.  Sometimes the feeding is multi-trophic, where an insect eats
the blossom, then a bird eats the insect. The seeds are plentiful and
feed many birds when the snow is deep.  Then, as the snow melts, a thin
layer of seeds appears which are eaten by mice and voles.
