Thanks for the suggestion.  Good test.   

It turns out that Yes, I can change antennas now on 50 MHz when I disconnect control cables.   Hmmmm.  

I reconnect the control cables, and the symptom of not being able to change to antennas other than antenna 3 on 50 MHz, returns.    

So one conclusion: maybe not the KAT500 settings.
