Good Evening,

    It was a sunny, mild week; the forest smells dry.  The ferns are not 
done unrolling but it is getting harder to see the burrows.  Today I had 
a Steller's jay follow me around on my hike.  Normally a few Grey jays 
keep tabs but today they were absent.  Pollen is not absent, you can see 
it in the wind.

   There was at least one RF black out this week.  I may have missed 
one.  We are currently under a solar storm watch.  The ions are moving 
slower than expected.  I will go out on a limb and predict QSB :)  I'll 
keep my fingers crossed there won't be another RF blackout.  Were things 
better during the solar doldrums?  Ten and fifteen meters are open which 
is a plus.
